Government policy targeting Jews: article 18(II) of Iraqi Nationality Law No. 26 of 2006, in force since 7 March 2006, bars Jews stripped of citizenship under Law No. 1 of 1950 and Law No. 12 of 1951 from regaining it.

   Nationality law excludes denaturalised Jews
   Article 18 lets people stripped of nationality on political, religious, racial or sectarian grounds regain it, but excludes those who lost it under Law No. 1 of 1950 and Law No. 12 of 1951.
