Jewish personal status law is legally recognised; Bnei Menashe Jews were among victims of ethnic violence in Manipur, but there is no state discrimination against Jews.

   Bnei Menashe hit by Manipur violence
   During ethnic violence in Manipur, a Meitei group reportedly attacked the Bnei Menashe Jewish community, who are ethnically Kuki, killing one member, destroying two synagogues and displacing more than 1,000.
