Bosnia and Herzegovina

The constitution bars everyone outside the Bosniak, Croat and Serb groups, including Jews and Roma, from the presidency. It does not target Jews.

   International observers noted the October 2026 general elections were held without implementing the European Court's rulings on eligibility.

   Sejdić-Finci ruling still not implemented
   The government again took no steps to amend the constitution so that Jews and Roma can run for the presidency and House of Peoples, as required by the 2009 ECHR judgment.
